Windows BlogHer’12 Total Style Makeover

0
This was me, just over a year ago.
This was the day I had committed to confronting my fears and demons and completely turning my life around. I was 240 pounds and scared for what my life had become and what was in my future if I continued on the same path. I feared for my health, my mortality, but most of all my daughter. How could she lead a happy and healthy life if I burdened her with my disordered eating, my unhealthy habits and worse yet, limiting her life with my health issues?

I worked my butt off. Little by little, the weight came off but what was even more important was that I fixed my head.

I identified my triggers, the reasons I overeat,
the obsessive compulsion to eat to the point of sickness.

I found pride in small victories and forgave myself for faltering.

I found my voice, my purpose and my inspiration through
healthy habits formed through hard work and perseverance.

I helped others find their way as well.

This is me today.
I am a mere 2.5 pounds from my goal of losing 100 pounds and being at a healthy, normal weight - something I hope to maintain for the rest of my life. I am not a shadow of the person I once was but a  light illuminating the past, showing me what I never want to be again.

I've made myself over from the inside, out. Now, I am entering the Microsoft Windows Style Makeover Sweepstakes to get made over from head to toe. Between family, work, and exercise, little time is left over for me to really reward myself for a job well done. Nothing screams 'weight loss success' more than a closet full of new clothes! So please cross your fingers for me that I will be named the winner of a much needed wardrobe makeover!

Disclosure: In writing this post, I'm entering the Microsoft Windows Style Makeover sweepstakes for a chance to win a head to toe makeover!
