Take it off | Week 52: I am a Warrior

0

Name: Kelly
Pronunciation: KEL-lee
Syllables: 2
Characters: 5
Origin and Meaning: Irish : warrior

On June 16th, I will live up to the meaning of my name and officially become a Warrior.
My husband (yes, he's finally involved in my madness) and I will be running through 3.38 miles of this:

Y'all that is real barbed wire!

I need to start working on my upper arm strength!
Hell. YES.
The best part?

Wait for it....

Waaaaiiiiiitttttt..........

FIRE!
THERE IS MOTHER HUMPIN' FIRE Y'ALL!

FIIIIIRE!!!!!
I cannot wait for June. It will be hot, dirty and probably the hardest thing I will have ever done in my life.
So if you need me, I'll be digging mud pits in my back yard and jumping over fire barrels. And if some crazy chick happens to jump on your car while you are sitting in traffic, that's just me training for the Warrior Dash.

My name is Kelly and I am a warrior.

This was a weird week for me. I kicked ass this week in terms of staying on plan. But the pull of old demons was felt hard core during the late week and weekend. It was a very stressful week at work full of nonsense and ridiculous people only to be capped off by a coworker speeding through the parking lot and nearly running me over. Seriously, one step to the right and I'd be dictating this post to a nurse in the ICU.
Then Saturday morning my grandmother went into the hospital. She's the only grandparent I have left, so to say I am worried is putting it lightly. She seems to be doing well now (heart trouble) but they are keeping her for a few days. She's 85 (I think...isn't that awful that I can't remember?) and sharp as a tack but her body has certainly not kept up with her mind.
I'm disappointed to tell you that I did indulge my sorrows a bit with some wine. But otherwise I did really well with eating and did not give in otherwise. Thankfully I still lost this week. I was down a full two pounds but after my pity-fest, I gained a half pound back bringing me to a total of 1.5lbs this week. I'm trying to not beat myself up for my indulgence. It sucks that it happened but when I look at all the awful crap that I managed to steer clear off (my kitchen is snack addict heaven, thanks to my husband) I am proud of the choices I made.

Besides, wine is a good anti-oxidant, right? ;)
